How does YouChoose differ from other animal-selling platforms?
There is nothing to date like this that exists. We provide a directory to connect animal enthusiasts alike.
Unlike the existing animal-selling platforms, YouChoose has been built for the purpose of buying and selling a broad range of animals in an efficient manner.
YouChoose has features that reduce the grunt of buying and selling animals. Including instant in-app messaging, a Visual Lineage Archive (VLA) and much more.
As a seller, it provides the capability to become a verified breeder. You can ensure you are connecting with a real person. You can also use the free page and link your existing website within your profile.
Is YouChoose only for puppies and kittens?
YouChoose is for much more than puppies and kittens. It is built for breeders and sellers of a variety of different animals.
Animals include a mix of livestock such as cattle, horses and sheep. Also household pets like birds, mice, guinea pigs and rabbits.
Sellers can subscribe to YouChoose, build a profile and sell animals of all shapes and sizes.
What is ANKC registration and why should I choose a breeder who has this certification?
Until YouChoose Pets and Livestock, it was the only current way to verify purebred dogs.
These breeders can all be a part of the YouChoose directory. If you intend only to buy from ANKC find these breeders in YouChoose.
ANKC stands for Australian Nation Canine Council. It is an internationally recognised registry able to issue certified pedigrees for purebred dogs.
A pedigree is certified paperwork that includes information on the dog like a birth certificate, and a multi-generation family tree – proving the fact that the dog is purebred, name, gender, colour, country of origin and the registered owner or breeder details.
ANKC is integrated with Dogs Australia. They are the most well-known pedigree organisation in Australia for show dogs.
If you want to ensure you are buying a good quality dog, communication between yourself and the breeder is essential.
Use your best judgment and seek the following information under the seller’s profile and the animal’s profile.
- Images and videos of the animal
- Video calls to view the animal if visiting in person is inconvenient
- Breeder’s individual profile
- Breeder sales history
- If available the Visual Lineage Archive (VLA)
